Our Achievements

fdpsaan initiated / participated in several Radio, Television and Newspapers programmes in Nigeria to educate and enlighten the public on fire safety related issues.

fdpsaan pioneered the 1st market fire safety awareness campaign in Nigeria

Based on this initiative, fdpsaan and Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and major Insurance companies co-organized the 1st Zonal National Workshop on market fires in Abuja and Lagos State.

fdpsaan presented the lead papers in a similar Zonal workshop on market fires in three States, Abuja, Ebonyi and Kano organized by NEMA.

fdpsaan also made a significant contribution into Bill on Fire Precaution and Control to usher in a National Fire Code as well as a Bill to restructure the Federal Fire Service in Nigeria at the parliament.

fdpsaan pioneered the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd annual bush burning fire awareness campaign /training programme to sensitize local communities on the dangers of bush burning to our environment.

fdpsaan organized the 1st Motor Park Fire awareness Campaign/training in partnership with Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to educate drivers/vehicle owners on how to prevent and manage vehicle fires.

Fdpsaan also organized the 1st National Conference on Youth Violence and Arson Fire in collaboration with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of Federation, Presidency to educate the youths on the dangers of engaging in violence act and arson behaviour.

fdpsaan has introduce fire safety programme in primary and secondary schools in FCT as a pilot scheme which presently has over 4000 registered members.

Fdpsaan also presented a paper at a Forum on Local Perspective on Disaster Risk Reduction in Johannesburg South Africa organized by IFRC, ProVention Consortium and UNISDR.
