Ongoing Projects/Activities

Some on-going/ proposed project of FDPSAAN includes:-

fdpsaan is working towards organizing a 30 minute fire enlightenment campaign programme on Radio and Television Stations in Nigeria.

There is an on-going plan to formally launch/implement our Fire Safety Programme and basic elementary Fire Books in Nigerian schools.

fdpsaan is planning to construct Fire Post in markets in the six geo-political zones in Nigeria to tackle problem of high incidence of market fires.

fdpsaan has also initiated a project in partnership with the Office of the Head of Civil Service to the Federation in Nigeria to embark on fire awareness /training campaign for civil servants.

A project on Fire Prevention and Emergency Preparedness in Hotels has been initiated by fdpsaan in partnership with Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) to promote fire safety in Hotels in Nigeria.

A Stakeholders Forum to find a lasting solution to Kerosene, Pipeline and Fuel Tanker explosions that has led to the death of several people with many others injured in Nigeria will be organized by fdpsaan in partnership with Federal Ministry of Energy.

Proposal to establish a Fire Research /Data collection center to promote research and generate the required fire statistics for effective fire planning, design of early fire warning system, preparedness and response is also on-going.

Our proposal to embark on market fire campaign in the entire markets in Delta State, South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria has been approved by the Delta State Government for implementation.

The 1st National Workshop to critically examine the impact of bushfire on our environment in collaboration with Senate Committee on Environment & Ecology National Assembly (Parliament) is on-going.
